My Story

Professional background

I worked in the Executive Search industry for 32 years, the last 21 in Boyden, one of the world’s top ten Executive Search firms. I took part in over 1 000 Executive Search Assignments and met thousands of Business Executives from all kinds of industries and walks of life – successful and visionary top-level Business Leaders, Pioneers, Forerunners, Trendsetters in the Business World.

Nowadays, an Author, Blogger, Chairman of the Board, providing presentations, one-to-one career change management webinars, and consulting on topics related to Executive Search. I have started writing on my second book.

I was born in Helsinki and graduated from the Swedish School of Economics in Helsinki. Hanken (nickname) is a leading, internationally accredited university with over a hundred years of experience in education and research in economics and business administration.

Private Bob

Happily married, three children, four grandchildren, + 1 dog.

All my life I have been interested in outdoor exercise and all kinds of sports. My two favourite hobbies are Karate and hiking in the wilderness. A founding member of a karate club and still active in the sport. Over the years, thousands of training sessions in the Dojo and more than 50 one-week canoeing and hiking trips into the wilderness and mountains of Northern Finland, Sweden, and Norway, from west to east.

A few things are more relaxing than a good karate training session, but a one-week hiking trip into the middle of nowhere, visiting mountaintops with 30 km views in any direction, and not a single person in sight, beats even that. (Check my two “hiking articles” in the Author’s Blog.)
